anti-anti-anti-. (17'o2'o3)
let me say a few words about the war and anti-war campaign. quite a lot of people i rank really
high take part in the anti-war campaign. or here in .cz, or in other countries. people are marching
to show their attitude, to show that according to them, war is not the answer. it seems that
america is being alone with its hurray-lets-kill-saddam-all-your-oil-belongs-to-us mood. the public
opinion through the whole europe seems to wish to seek a peaceful solution... people in great
britain are fed up with their leaders, which are like us government's tail.
ok, so what can i add? i'm against the war too - there are many good reasons you probably already
know or you can read it elsewhere, explained much better than i ever could. but i'd like to have
a look on the other side: please, don't forget, that saddam's regime still IS dangerous, punishing
the oposition with an iron fist, causing normal people to suffer terribly. it's not only because of
usa or other west countries and the gulf war (which of course was horrible). saddam is a criminal
and iraq would be a better place to live without him i think.
one more point: the american media show us a very good example of unobjective and dishonest work.
but are the european media better, just because they are on your side these days? and yet one
thought: if there is a war-hysteria in us, isn't it an anti-war hysteria here? are the opponents
of war open to any discussion? there was a big pacific movement before the world war II - and all
were so happy to betray czechoslovakia - they thought they won the peace for quite a reasonable
price - last democratic country in the middle europe. as we know, they were wrong and later hitler
heavily used plenty of former czechoslovak army equipment. i don't say this is the same case: i
only say i would be careful when joining any kind of movement/front. it's also because there are
people i really don't like taking part. am i going to stay with them hand in hand? that makes me
a little bit suspicious. an example - czech communists.
thus a conclusion: call me a pesimist or a hesitator, but i can't take part in the anti-war
struggle: i don't trust it and i think it's just another type of mass manipulation. and if you
march, please don't forget to know why...
